Search continues for missing Granville man

PAWLETT, VT – The search for a 23-year-old missing Granville man
continued along the Mettawee River on Friday.

The search for Jonathan Schaff continued along the banks of the
Mettawee River on the New York, Vermont state line near Granville and Pawlett.
Members of Vermont State Police Search and Rescue, VSP Scuba Team, Granville Police
Department, and VSP Crime Scene Search Team will be in the area, conducting the
search.

Schaff was last seen in the early morning hours of January 18,
2014. Through the course of the investigation, detectives from New York and
Vermont learned that he was reportedly involved in a physical altercation at
the Riverside Pub in Granville that same evening, and sustained a head
laceration and broken glasses.

A previous search by the Vermont State Police scuba
team and K-9 unit based around where Schaff's phone was located did not turn up any leads.

He was last seen walking east on East Main Street, State Route
149, in the area of the New York, Vermont state line. Schaff was reportedly
wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and/or dark brown Carhart jacket with dark
pants and brown work boots.
