Police: Man convicted of DWI arrested for driving without interlock ignition device

FONDA, N.Y. – State Police say they have arrested a man who
was driving without an interlock ignition device despite being convicted of
DWI.

According to authorities, a Trooper stopped a vehicle on
Walnut Street for a passenger not wearing a seatbelt on February 17.

The driver, Peter Geary, 42, was allegedly found with a
suspended license and driving the vehicle without an interlock ignition device.
Geary must drive with an interlock ignition device due to a prior DWI
conviction.

State Police say the man was also found in possession of
marijuana.

Geary was charged with operating a motor vehicle without an
interlock device, aggravated operation of a motor vehicle 2nd, and
unlawful possession of marijuana. He was arraigned and released on bail to reappear
in court.
