TROY, N.Y.–The court of appeals, ruling unanimously today has thrown out the murder conviction of Adrian Thomas.
Adrian Thomas was convicted of murder when his infant son died with a head injury in 2008.
A new trial has been ordered without his purported confession.
New York's highest court says police can go too far lyring to suspects, making confession inadmissible as evidence when the lies told during interrogations become patiently coercive.
