GLENS FALLS, N.Y.—A push to clean up “brownfield” sites
that some call eyesores and health concerns was made in Glens Falls Thursday.
Senator Chuck Schumer stood in front of one of the sites
to fight for an environments protection agency grant.
Senator Schumer said the six brownfield sites are not
only hurting downtown redevelopment, but are a matter of public health.
An even bigger concern is that some of the sites are in
highly concentrated residential areas and near schools.
