13 assisted after apartment fire in Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. – Fire crews were at the scene of a house fire at 41 Watervliet Avenue Friday night.

The fire broke out around 6:30 p.m., and started in the attic according to firefighters at the scene.

One person was in the home at the time and needed assistance getting out. There were no injuries.

Part of Watervliet Avenue was closed during the night as crews continued to work at the scene.

Volunteers from the American Red Cross of Northeastern New York have aided 13 people after the apartment building fire. The two families, including eight adults and five children, ages 1 to 15 were given food, clothing and housing.
