Officials begin investigation into barn fire, seeking public’s help

SCHAGHTICOKE, N.Y. – Authorities in Rensselaer County say
they are investigating a barn fire in the Town of Schaghticoke.

According to Yvonne Keefe, with the Rensselaer County Sheriff's
Office of Public Affairs, deputies responded to a 911 call shortly after 7 p.m.
for the fire on Fisherman's lane.

The caller was able to extinguish the fire before fire crews
arrived. The barn only suffered minor damage, say officials.

Keefe said that witnesses report seeing a black, two door,
Volvo with tinted windows, drive by the barn a number of times, before the fire
was reported.

Rensselaer
County Investigators are now asking for the public's help in regards to this
incident. Anyone with information about the fire or the vehicle should contact
Sheriff's Investigators at 518-266-1981.
