Colonie Police investigating armed robbery at local motel

COLONIE,
N.Y. — The Town of Colonie Police Department is investigating a report of an
armed robbery Friday morning at the Super 8 Motel located on Central Avenue.

According
to police, at 1:26 a.m. a woman reported that two men entered her hotel room
demanding money.

Colonie
Police say the victim had advertised herself as an escort on Backpage.com and
answered the door for one the suspects, believing that he was a customer. The
second suspect then also entered the room. The victim told police one of the men
displayed what appeared to be a small silver handgun. 

The
men allegedly stole personal effects from the room, including the victim's cell
phone, a handbag and barber style clippers. No one was injured in the incident.
 

The
two were observed leaving the scene in a small silver SUV eastbound on Central
Avenue. The vehicle was described as having a tire with a hard cover mounted on
the rear of the vehicle. 

The
first suspect is described as 5'10' with facial hair on his chin. He was
wearing a red baseball hat, tan
vest, white and red camouflage pants, and red and white Nike sneakers.

The
second suspect is described as 5'7″ to 5'10″, 170 pounds, and clean shaven. He
was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black Nike sneakers.

There
is no video surveillance video or images of the suspects available at this
time.
