Police: Car involved in bank robbery was reported stolen in December

DELMAR, N.Y. – Bethlehem Police say they are still searching for a bank robbery suspect and have released a description of the vehicle which may have been involved.

Police say the Citizens Bank on Delaware Avenue in Delmar was held up late Tuesday morning.

According to authorities, the suspect, armed with a handgun, approached the teller and demanded money.  After the teller complied with the demand, the suspect fled out the front door with an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect fled in a vehicle described as a 2003-2008, silver or grey Mazda 6 four-door with New York registration EWN-7808, according to police. They say the plates were reported stolen to the Albany Police Department last month.

The suspect is described as a white male, 18-25 years of age, wearing a light grey Champion hooded sweatshirt, tan cargo style pants, black knit hat/ mask, approximately 5'11″ to 6'. 

No one was injured as a result of the robbery.
