ALBANY, N.Y. – Firefighters are at the scene of a fire at 242 Orange Street in Albany.
According to crews at the scene, the building was occupied at the time, but everyone was able to get out safely.
Officials say the homeowner was attempting to thaw his pipes, likely with a blowtorch, when the fire started. It quickly spread from the basement to the second floor.
Although it is still an active scene, officials say the fire has been controlled. A CDTA bus was brought in to help firefighters stay warm.
