Woman charged with stealing, cashing checks

SOUTH GLENS FALLS, NY – According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on Friday at approximately 4:10 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff's Office arrested
Katelyn Cooper, 23, of South Glens Falls.

Cooper was
arrested for three counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd,
a class D Felony; and three counts of
Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor. The
charges stem from checks that were stolen from an acquaintance, and cashed at
banks in the Town of Kingsbury and Fort Edward.

Cooper was
arraigned in the Town of Fort Edward Court, and posted $1,500 cash bail. The
arrest was made by Investigator Kristen Hardy.
