ALBANY, N.Y. – Albany Police investigated a call near a local middle school on Friday morning around 7:45 a.m.
According to authorities, they received a call for a handgun seen on Delaware Avenue, near Hackett Middle School.
Albany City School spokesperson Lisa Angerame told NEWS10 ABC that the school is on lock-out as a precaution and will remain so until they receive official word from the police and school safety officers that the area is safe.
Police say the incident was not directed at the school. Police are still investigating but have so far, deemed the report unfounded.
