LIVINGSTON, N.Y. – A single car accident sent one person to the hospital on Thanksgiving evening.
According to NYS Police, they responded to a one car personal injury auto accident shortly before 8 p.m. on Thursday.
Police say Jason VanAckooy, 34, was traveling northbound on County Route 19 when he failed to negotiate a curve, went off the roadway and struck a telephone pole.
The vehicle was split in two.
VanAckooy had to be cut from the vehicle by Livingston Fire Department. He was then airlifted to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries.
An investigation into the accident continues and charges are possible because unsafe speed was a factor.
