ALBANY, N.Y. — Several families in Albany have been displaced for the holiday because of fire.

According to the Albany fire chief, a duplex on Quail Street caught fire Thursday morning, forcing at least 12 people to find another place to stay tonight.

The fire began on the second floor, and the cause is still under investigation. The fire chief says a dog and cat died in the fire, but no one else was hurt.
