TROY, N.Y. – The 66th annual Troy Turkey Trot kicks off on Thanksgiving morning.
Close to 8,000 people are expected to be at this year's 66th annual Troy Turkey Trot, but this year there are big changes for runners and spectators following increased security measures.
Some of the new rules include restrictions stating no backpacks will be allowed, no costumes covering the face can be worn, and runners must check in their items at the ‘baggage check'. Costumes also shouldn't be bulky and all items inside a bag must be inside a clear plastic bag.
The events include a 5K, 10K, grade School Mile and Turkey Walk. They all begin at Fourth and Fulton Streets and finish at Monument Square. The first race kicks off at 8 a.m. and results will be updated at troyturkeytrot.com.
