AMSTERDAM, N.Y. – An Amsterdam man has been arrested after a package containing 20 grams of heroin was sent to his apartment.
According to police, while a parole officer was conducting a home visit at Rudy Garcia-Toro's home, he noticed a suspicious package had been sent through the mail.
Garcia-Toro, 33, opened the package in front of the parole officer. The package allegedly contained more than 20 grams of heroin and $185 in US currency.
The drugs were seized by Amsterdam Police and the man was taken into custody.
Garcia-Toro was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree and sent to Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail following his arraignment.
