Albany man found guilty on weapons, assault charges

ALBANY, N.Y. – An Albany man was
found guilty Thursday on charges assault and weapons charges.

Ryan Gunn, 26, was
found guilty of two Counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second-degree
and one Count of Assault in the second-degree.

On November 12, 2012, Gunn
and a neighbor that he knew began to argue in the area of Second Avenue in the
City of Albany. According to authorities, he then retrieved a firearm from his
waistband and fired at his neighbor, hitting the victim in the shoulder. The
defendant then fled Albany County and was arrested in Georgia.

Gunn faces up to 15
years in State Prison when sentenced on January 16, 2014. He remains in custody
without bail at the Albany County Correctional Facility.
