Mass. authorities seeking information in hit and run leaving a female seriously injured

BLANDFORD, Mass., – Massachusetts State Police are asking
for information from the public regarding a hit and run on the Turnpike.

According to authorities, around 11 p.m. on Friday there
were reports of a person dressed in dark clothing hitchhiking in the westbound
lanes of the Turnpike near the North Road overpass.

Patrols were then dispatched when they located a 31-year-old
woman lying against the guardrail.  State
Police say the woman sustained serious injuries and is believed to have been
struck by a passing vehicle.

The initial investigating indicated the female was a
passenger in a vehicle travelling on the Turnpike before exiting the vehicle
for unknown reasons.

State Police are asking anyone with information to contact
