Man arrested on bench warrant also charged after dragging 11-year-old relative

GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. – Police arrested a man on Thursday on a
Gloversville City Court bench warrant along with other pending charges.

According to the police department, Michael Blaney, 32,
attempted to flee the 16th Seventh Avenue residence as officer
arrived to the area.

However, Blaney was apprehended and taken into custody on
the bench warrant for Failure to Appear on a Vehicle and traffic
violation.  He also faces additional
charges stemming from Criminal
Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, Endangering the
Welfare of a Child, and Attempted Assault in the Third Degree, all
misdemeanors.

The
additional charges stem from a complaint that Blaney grabbed and dragged his
11-year-old nephew during an argument at a Jay Street home. Following that
incident, he was located by authorities with heroin.

Blaney
was arraigned in city court and sent to Fulton County Correction Facility on
$2,500 cash bail.
