Costume contest in this year’s Troy Turkey Trot

TROY, N.Y. – Changes and activities for the annual Troy Turkey Trot slated for Thanksgiving Day were announced Friday in the city's Riverfront Park.

The 66th annual run is expected to draw in over 8,000 participants from across the nation to take part in the 5K, 10K, Grade School Mile and Turkey Walk in Troy.

New this year, the race will feature a costume contest for categories of “Best Thanksgiving Contest” and “Most Unique Costume.”

A press conference was held Friday announcing the run and included a mini road race featuring costumed runners and regional mascots.

Troy's Turkey Trot is the nation's 12th oldest road race and teh 64th oldest road race in the world.
