Six arrested between July and October in Albany County for welfare fraud

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Albany County Sheriff's Office has
arrested 6 people on separate charges related to welfare fraud.

The following people have been arrested since July 2013:

  • Harrison Conley, 50, of Albany – Accused of
    defrauding the Department of Social Services of $5,513.50 by failing to report
    income.
  • Jonelle Footman, 28, of Albany – Accused of
    defrauding the Department of Social Services of $6,218.50 by submitting false
    daycare billing statements.
  • Quateisha Hines, 23, of Albany – Accused of
    defrauding the Department of Social Services of $5,873.00 by submitting false
    daycare billing statements.
  • Latoya Pringle, 29, of Albany – Accused of
    defrauding the Department of Social Services of $ 4,501.00 by submitting false
    daycare billing statements.
  • Salma Razai, 39, of Latham – Accused of
    defrauding the Department of Social Services of $ 8,913.68 by failing to report
    income.
  • Rosemarie Tubbs, 56, of Cohoes – Accused of
    defrauding the Department of Social Services of $ 8,995.00 by failing to report
    income.

In 2012, the yearly total for Department of Social Service
fraud arrests totaled $341,686.23.  In
2013 so far, the amount is $182,314.00.
