Police: Man arrested for using drugs in a gas station restroom

WATERFORD, N.Y. – One man was arrested at a Stewart's in
connection to possible drug use in the bathroom.

Police say they were called to the Stewart's Shop on
Middletown Road around 11 p.m. on Tuesday for a man who had been in the
restroom for over an hour and refused to leave.

As the officer arrived, he knocked on the door and the man,
identified as James Cerqua, 23, opened the door.

The officer found a hypodermic instrument on the floor and
an empty glassine packet, which is commonly used to package heroin.  Two additional packets were found in the trach

Cerqua was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of
a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and Criminally Possessing a
Hypodermic Instrument.  He will be in
court on October 17.
