Saratoga County fire officials distributing free smoke alarms to seniors

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – As National Fire
Prevention kicks off, Saratoga County fire officials announced a program to distribute free smoke detectors to older adults
though a grant awarded by FEMA to the New York State Association of Fire
Chiefs.

The Clifton Park and Halfmoon Fire Departments say smoke detectors save
thousands of lives every year and with this grant they will be able to deliver and install
smoke detectors to seniors, age 65 or older, in need for free.

The program is running through March 2014.
