Amsterdam police arrest 5 after execution of search and arrest warrants

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. –  On
Friday morning Amsterdam Police arrested 5 people after executing one search
warrant and four arrest warrants.

The search warrant was issued at 68 Grove Street.  Authorities say they arrested Michael Quinones,
28, and charged him with of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance and
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. 
They say Quinones was found with about one ounce of powder and crack
cocaine, about $3,200 cash, and a number of prescription pills.

The four arrest warrants led to the arrests of Andrew
Joseph, 34, Beverly Singletary, 48, Pedro Rosado, 20, and Michelle Abatecola,
41.  All four have been charged with
Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance related to cocaine or crack cocaine
sales.

All five defendants are scheduled to be arraigned Friday
morning.

Amsterdam police say one more arrest for a person who was
not located is pending.

The execution of these warrants was part of a joint effort
with Amsterdam Police, the NYS Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, The
Montgomery County Sheriff's Department and the Regional SWAT Team.
