Police: Two arrested for drug possession after traffic stop

BETHLEHEM, N.Y. – State Police say two people have been
arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop.

Troopers on the NYS Thruway stopped a vehicle with excessive
window tinting shortly before 11 p.m. Friday.

During the stop trooper say they found 4.9 grams of
cocaine. 

Saul Mercado, 32, and his passenger Ezequeil Rivera
Martinez, 24, were both arrested. 
Mercado has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled
Substance in the 4th Degree, a felony.  Martinez has been charged with Criminal
Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a misdemeanor.

Mercado was arraigned and sent to Albany County Jail in lieu
of $35,000 bail.

Martinez was issued an appearance ticket for October 1.
