PLAIN, N.Y. — The Fulton County Long Term Recover Committee will host its
first Community Rebuilding Day in Fort Plain on Saturday, August 31st.
100 volunteers are expected to work on approximately nine projects in the Fort
Plain Area including muck outs, demolition, mold remediation, sheet rocking,
Committee is currently processing cases for over 50 local residents,
identifying specific unmet needs. The
most prevalent and immediate needs are for furnaces, foundation and electrical
work. Those wishing to volunteer or
support the mission of the committee are encouraged to attend the Community
Mission of the Long Term Recover Committee is to meet the unmet needs of
disaster impacted individuals in Fulton and Montgomery Counties and advocate
for ongoing preparedness for future disasters.
- 8:30 to 9:30 – Volunteers
will be paired with project managers at Haslett Park, light refreshments will be provided by Freihofers
- 9:00 to 10:00 – FMLTRC
members will be available to the media from 9:00 to 10:00 at Haslett Park to discuss the ongoing
progress being made by the committee
- 12:00 to 1:30 – Free
Community Meal, all Flood Volunteers Welcome at the Fort Plain Reformed Church, 165 Canal Street
- 4:30 to 5:00 – Volunteers
report back to Haslett Park.
