ALBANY, N.Y. – HAZMAT crews responded to an acid spill at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering in Albany on Saturday.

Steve Janack, the spokesperson for the Nano College says at around 930AM, a vendor working in the building was draining a chemical into a treatment facility.  Emergency crews were called to the scene when some fumes rose.

Local and county HAZMAT crews responded to the scene.

There doesn't appear to be a threat to public safety, according to Apple.

Janack says three people were voluntarily taken to the hospital.

Emergency crews are still on the scene cleaning up.  Tests are being conducted as well but they expect to clear the area soon.
