One woman killed in Bennington car crash involving 3 sisters

BENNINGTON, Vt. – One woman was killed after a car carrying three sisters crashed on
Crescent Boulevard in Bennington this morning, police say.

The Bennington Police Department says the single car crash happened around 11:10 a.m. on
Crescent Boulevard near the intersection of Westside Drive when the car struck a large pine tree.

Police say the three occupants were sisters. The operator, 85-year-old Yvette Blott was pinned behind the steering
wheel, 82-year-old Colette D.
Blott was in the right front passenger seat and was out of the car attending to the sister in the back seat,
81-year-old Rachele M. Blott, who police say succumbed to her injuries.

All
three sisters were treated at the scene by police and rescue and all were
transported to the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Yvette Blott was transferred to Albany Medical Center for back injuries, and Colette
Blott is
stable with injuries to her lower extremities.

A preliminary investigation shows the vehicle was
westbound on Crescent Boulevard and as it approached the area of Westside Drive
and Pine Circle the car veered off the right side of the road and drove into a
large pine tree. The car spun away from the tree and came to a rest.

The accident remains under investigation. If anyone witnessed the crash they are asked to call Bennington
Police.
