IBM laying off 369 employees from Dutchess County plant

HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y. – A total of 369 employees of IBM are being laid off from the Dutchess County plant.

IBM, located on Route 52 in Hopewell Junction, says the plant layoffs will happen in September and are occurring due to the economy.

“I'm
very disappointed by IBM's decision to reduce their workforce in Dutchess County
and across the country,” said Senator Terry Gipson (D-Rhinebeck). “I'm currently working with federal, state and local
officials in a collective effort to help find ways to get those who will be
impacted back to work as quickly as possible.”
