Parishioners celebrate dedication of Saint Ann Catholic Church

WATERVLIET, N.Y. – Saint Ann, a Maronite Catholic church formerly based in Troy, was officially “dedicated to God” Saturday, with a procession and a consecration ceremony.

In 2004, extensive repairs and renovations began on the 150-year-old structure, located at 1919 Third Avenue in Watervliet. The elaborate stained glass windows, organ, pews and altar – all original structures from the 1860's – were restored using donations from the Council of the Knights of Columbus.

Saint Ann is not far from Saint Patrick's Church in Watervliet which is in the process of being demolished to make room for a commercial shopping center.
