Grannies for Peace hold vigil at Tulip Festival

ALBANY, N.Y. – A vigil was held Saturday by Grannies for Peace near the Moses Statue at the Tulip Festival.

The women held life size puppets made by Schenectady
Grandmother Mabel Leon, representing the role of mothers as the “guardians of
peace.”

During the afternoon they handed out carnations and copies
of the Mother's Day Declaration calling on women to oppose violence and disarm.
