Police: 2 women arrested after using forged travelers checks at Crossgates Mall

ALBANY, N.Y. – Guilderland Police have arrested two women
for using forged travelers check at Crossgates Mall to buy merchandise.

According to police, a Loss Prevention Officer called them
to the mall after witnessing one of the women use a forged check to purchase
items from Old Navy. Following her through the mall, he witnessed the woman
make additional purchases.

When officers arrived, the woman was arrested and the United
States Secret Service verified the travelers' checks were fake.

When a second woman came to pick up her friend from the
police station, she was also arrested for passing the same type of checks at
the H&M in Crossgates Mall.

Alexandria Subero,20, of St. Albans, is charged with three
counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd-Degree, two
counts of Petit larceny, and one count of Criminal Impersonation in the 2nd-Degree.
Shantanik Holloway, 19, of Long Island City, faces a Petit Larceny charge as
well as Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd-Degree.

Police say both women were using the fake $100 American
Express Travelers checks to buy items, and they ask anyone with additional
cases to contact their Criminal Investigation Unit at 356-1501.
