BOSTON, Mass. — Several area schools and colleges will remain closed Friday, as authorities search for the remaining suspect in the marathon bombings.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology announced that classes have been cancelled and employees will be allowed to remain home from work following the fatal shooting of a campus officer by the marathon suspects.
All Boston Public Schools are closed and have cancelled school activities, including Acceleration Academies and athletic events.
Boston University on its website announced that classes have been cancelled Friday and urged students to stay inside during the ongoing search and monitor news developments. One of the three people killed in Monday's explosions was a BU graduate student.
Emerson College, Harvard University and Boston College have also cancelled classes.
