TROY, N.Y. — Troy police are investigating a robbery at the M&T Bank on Hoosick Street and North Lake Avenue.

Captain John Cooney says the suspect presented a note to the teller that said “If you give me money, no one will get shot”.

“We have conflicting reports from witnesses right now as to whether the suspect fled on foot or if there was a getaway car involved, but with this environment we're in next to the bank, we have a lot of work to do as far as checking video surveillance systems,” says Cooney.

Cooney says while no weapon was displayed, the suspect did infer that a weapon would come out if the teller did not comply.

“No one has been hurt, but it is disturbing to us that this is the second time the suspect has hit within the last three days,” says Cooney.

The suspect fled on foot with undetermined amount of cash.

Cooney says they believe the man who robbed the M & T bank is also the same suspect in Wednesday morning's robbery of a First Niagara Bank in Lansingburgh.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, medium build, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, very unique black and white NIKE gloves (black gloves, white NIKE logo), Callaway cap on (black Callaway lettering on the front, cap was white), also has some facial hair with a mustache.
