Fallen marine remembered by family, friends

LENOX, Mass. –The funeral services for Lance Cpl. Roger
W. Muchnick Jr., one of the seven marines killed in a mortar explosion during a
live-fire training exercise
on March 18, will be held Friday in Lenox.

The church seats around 500, and only standing room was
left after friends and family filtered in to pay their respects.

Muchnick is from Fairfield, Conn. but spent a lot of his
time in Lenox, visiting his grandparents and even attending the church his
funeral will be held at.

He will be buried at St. Ann's cemetery next to his great
uncle, Lt. Commander William Coakley, a pilot who was shot down over North Vietnam
in 1966.

Family, friends, dignitaries and fellow service members all
came to honor the marine.

Muchnick will be buried with full military honors.

As for the explosion, the marines are still investigating
what happened. In the meantime the pentagon has halted the use of the mortar
