‘Poetry out Loud’ State Finals held at Saint Rose

ALBANY, N.Y. – Sixteen students will recite poetry during
the ‘Poetry Out Loud' State Finals in an effort to move on the national
championship round.

Students will recite works they have selected from an
anthology of more than 650 classic and contemporary poems, and they will be
judged on their performances including voice, articulation, evidence of
understanding, level of difficulty and accuracy.

The champion receives $200 and an all-expenses paid trip to
Washington to compete for the national title, and the champion's school gets $500
for the purchase of poetry books.

The event will be held in Albany at The College of Saint
