PRINCETOWN, N.Y. — State Police in Princetown are investigating the robbery of an NBT Bank on Route 20, in Sharon Springs.
On Wednesday, January 23, 2013, State Police in Princetown were dispatched to a bank robbery at the NBT Bank, Route 20, Sharon Springs, Schoharie County.
At 12:04 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, a man entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding cash. The suspect left the bank on foot and proceeded in a northerly direction behind the bank.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5'8 inches tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a yellow hard hat, a reflective work vest, jeans, gloves, and a hooded sweatshirt.
It is believed he left the area in an older model black Jeep with a hard top and yellow emergency light affixed to the roof. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with white rims and the license plate is an older white New York plate.
NBT Bank is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the apprehension and prosecution of any suspect.
