Chatham woman faces drug charges after traffic stop

GHENT, N.Y. – A Chatham woman is facing several drug-related charges after a traffic stop in Ghent on Thursday night.

Allison Groupp, 19, was stopped on State Route 66 in Ghent by State Police, and was found to be in possession of heroin, amphetamine/dextroamphetamine and six hypodermic syringes.

Groupp was driving under the influence of a drug and struggled with the arresting trooper, according to police.

Groupp was arraigned and sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bail.
