Stewart’s Shop held up at gun-point and robbed in Menands

MENANDS, N.Y. – Thursday night, the Stewart's Shop at 20 Broadway in the Village of Menands was held up, and $4,700 dollars were taken at gun-point.

The perpetrators are being described by police as two black males, who were both seen wearing hoodies and face masks at the time of the incident. One male was wearing a gray hoodie, tan cargo pants and black and white sneakers. The other male was wearing a dark hoodie and dark colored pants.

The man in the gray hoodie was approximately six feet tall; the other, about five feet and nine inches tall.

Police say that the male in the gray hoodie displayed a shot-gun and forced the clerk to hand over the cash, at around 11:00 p.m.

Both subjects fled on foot south onto Broadway and into the City of Albany.

No vehicle was observed being used and no employee sustained injury during the incident.

The investigation is ongoing at this time, by the Village of Menands Police Department.
