Albany Police detective struck by vehicle that failed to yield

ALBANY, N.Y. – On Friday night, failure to yield on the part of one vehicle led to a personal-injury two car accident in Albany involving an Albany Police detective.

At around 9:00 p.m. on Friday, an Albany Police detective driving an unmarked SUV westbound on Madison Avenue was struck by a sedan that pulled into the path of the detective without yielding.

The collision occurred in the area of the intersection of Madison Avenue and South Lake Avenue.

The detective was taken to the hospital for pain, treated and released.

The two occupants of the sedan that struck the detective were treated on the scene by fire-fighters but refused further medical treatment.

The driver of the sedan was ticketed for failure to yield.
