MALTA, N.Y. – Saratoga County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit arrested two men as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation Thursday.
Michael Edwards, a 22-year-old from Schenectady, and Aaron Ketchmore, a 21-year-old also of Schenectady, were arrested for selling crack cocaine while in the parking lot of the Exit 12 Park and Ride.
Edwards and Ketchmore were in a vehicle with an unidentified third male at the time of illegal sale.
The three fled from narcotics unit officials in the vehicle, striking and damaging one Saratoga County Sheriff's patrol vehicle during the pursuit. At the intersection of NYS Route 67 and State Farm Place, Edwards jumped out of the driver's side and fled on foot.
Ketchmore and the third male were immediatley taken into custody. A K-9 Unit, State Police and NYS Aviation were called in to search for Edwards, who was later arrested near Shenantaha Park on Eastline Road.
Edwards and Ketchmore were found to have existing patrol warrants.
Edwards and Ketchmore were arraigned in Malta Justice Court and remain in the custody of Saratoga County Jail on a $50,000 cash bail. They will return to the same court on Wednesday, December 5th. No word on if the third man will face charges.
