ALBANY, N.Y. – After an Albany County Sheriff's Deputy needed to intervene between activists and an Albany Airport official over their First Amendment rights, the County Executive has responded saying he hopes the Airport Authority Board will look into the incident.

The Friday, Nov. 23rd incident was captured on video showing two young InfoWars activists attempting to hand out informational flyers at the airport. They were stopped by Albany Airport Spokesperson Doug Myers, who was soon after schooled by Deputy Stan Lenic on their First Amendment rights, telling Myers they weren't doing anything wrong.

Many NEWS10 viewers have responded to the incident, praising the actions of the deputy and looked down on the actions of Myers, saying he was over-stepping his boundaries even calling his behavior “unprofessional.”

Albany County Executive Dan McCoy responded to Myers' actions as well, releasing a statement saying “Albany International Airport is run by the Albany County Airport Authority. I have been in touch with CEO John O'Donnell about the circumstances surrounding the videotaped incident at the airport this week and I am concerned about the rights, privacy and safety of anyone who travels through Albany County. I trust that Mr. O'Donnell and the Airport Authority Board will look into this matter and act appropriately.”

On Wednesday, CEO John O'Donnell said “Our concern – as it always is – was for the safety of the passengers and the public who were in the airport.”
