FONDA, N.Y. – The race for the 46th State Senate District has moved to a court room in Montgomery County.

The process of examining about 800 “questionable” ballots began in Fonda Thursday.

Right now, Republican Assemblyman George Amedore is ahead of Democrat Cecilia Tkacyk by just over 100 votes.

With Republicans and Democrats holding nearly an equal amount of seats, the outcome of this race could decide which party controls the senate.

Republicans have had control for the better part of 45 years, with the exception of 2009 and 2010.
