Mohawk Hudson Humane Society ‘Pets for Vets’ event

MENANDS, N.Y. – The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is celebrating Veterans Day with furry paws and free microchips.

'Pets for Vets' is the humane society's way of thanking veterans and those currently serving in the military, for their sacrifices and service.

In honor of Veterans Day, all cats and dogs adopted from Friday, November 9th through Sunday, November 11th, will receive a free microchip and dog-tag.

In addition, all feline adoption fees will be reduced to half-price.

The society is currently caring for over 233 cats and kittens, and approximately 105 puppies and dogs.

The 'Pets for Vets' adoption offer will be in effect at the animal center in Menands as well as the PetSmart store in Latham and Glenmont, and the Petco in Clifton Park.

The Hudson Mohawk Humane Society is open for adoptions Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. through 4:00 p.m., and the society is located at 3 Oakland Avenue in Menands.
