AMSTERDAM, N.Y. – A suspect has been named and an arrest warrant issued in a stabbing that occurred on earlier in October on an Amsterdam street.
The warrant has been issued for Gregory Lavallo, 23, of 39 Evelyn Ave., Amsterdam in connection to a stabbing that occurred on October 4th, on Wesleyan Avenue near the intersection with Chapel Place.
The victim was a passenger in a vehicle, occupied by three other individuals, when a verbal argument began between the victim and one of the passengers in the vehicle. The argument escalated and the victim and the suspect then exited the vehicle, engaging in a physical altercation. The victim then returned to the vehicle and advised the other occupants, whom had remained in the vehicle, that he had been stabbed by the suspect.
The victim was driven to St. Mary's Hospital, where he was treated for multiple stab wounds, and then transferred to Albany Medical Center.
The victim has been released from the hospital and is recovering from severe stab wounds to his chest and leg.
Lavallo is facing one count of Assault 1st-Degree, a Class B Felony, and he still remains at large.
