Rensselaer County traffic advisory for Sunday due to motorcycle ride

RENSSELAER COUNTY – Rensselaer County Sheriff Jack Mahar is issuing a Traffic
Safety Notice for the following roadways on Sunday, September 9th.

Rolling Thunder and We Care Ride is hosting a motorcycle
procession for more than 1,500 motorcyclists between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in honoring
TSgt. Joe Wilkinson, a US Air Force Iraq Veteran.

Motorists are advised to expect up to 20 minutes in traffic
delays for the following roadways while the riders pass by: The ride will begin at 11 a.m. on Veering Way in
Schodack. The ride will continue on Route 9 to Route 20 east turning onto Route
66 in the Town of Nassau, proceeding to Route 43 in the Town of Sand Lake.
Continuing on Route 43 west to Route 150 south returning back to Birch Hill.

Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office Highway Patrol with
assistance from State Police, East Greenbush P.D., North Greenbush P.D., Nassau
P.D. and Schodack P.D. will work to ensure the safety of the traveling public
and attempt to minimize traffic congestion and delays during this event.

This motorcycle ride is to help raise money for TSgt Joe
Wilkinson and his family. The main event, “Home 4 Joe,” will host live
entertainment bands, a car and bike show, children's activities, food and much
more.

Sheriff Jack Mahar a Marine Veteran will show his support by riding in
this event.
