SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – The gates at the Saratoga Race Course
officially opened for the 2012 season on Friday.
Some attendees waited outside the gates hours before they
opened so they could get a spot inside.
Many people also got to the race course early have breakfast
at the Clubhouse and watch the horses warm up for the day.
As the crowds piled in, NEWS10 was able to speak with one
man who has made attending Opening Day a family tradition. The man says he has
attended Opening Day for 30 years.
Another newlywed couple attended Opening Day as part of
their honeymoon. They said they got the chance to attend the race course two
years ago and had a great time, so they returned.
Opening day was full of excitement. NEWS10 will be reporting
