Montgomery County declares State of Emergency, Burn Ban

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, NY – A State of Emergency has been
declared in Montgomery County due to insufficient rainfall and extremely dry
weather conditions.

The State of Emergency is declared a burn ban from July 13 at 9:00 a.m.
and continues in effect until July 18 at 9:00 a.m.

Due to the conditions, the county asks residents do not
intentionally set fire. This goes without exceptions and includes burning in barrels
or outdoor fireplaces. This order replaces all burning permits.

Those who violate this order may be charged with a Class B
Misdemeanor.

This declaration may be extended due to the lack of rain.
