RENSSELAER, NY – A public hearing on Friday night will
discuss changing liquor store hours during holidays in Rensselaer County.
Under current state law, county liquor stores can only be
open for two hours on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor
Day, and Thanksgiving.
Legislators say the proposed change will help small
businesses and improve convenience for customers by expanding business hours on holidays.
The public hearing will be conducted by the New York State
Liquor Authority in downtown Troy.
