Schenectady suspect flees after shooting

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – A fight inside a Schenectady bar leads to a victim being wounded by a gun shot in the parking lot Friday morning.

The Schenectady Police Department arrived on scene at Doug's Tailgate Tavern at the address of 1490 State Street in Schenectady at 4:04 a.m. Friday morning after reports of a gun shot being fired.

Upon arrival, officers located one male victim, 28, in the parking lot of Doug's Tailgate Tavern with a gun shot wound to his upper back. He was treated on scene and soon after transported to Ellis Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect involved in the shooting is described as a black male approximately 5'8 wearing dark colored clothing and was last seen hopping into an SUV, leaving the scene eastbound on State Street.

As of 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sargeant McCracken of Schenectady Police says that the investigation is still ongoing and there are no leads on catching this suspect involved in the shooting.
