Police: Saratoga Springs Fire Dept. employee arrested for crack cocaine possession

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Saratoga Springs Police Department arrested two people, including one employee of the Saratoga Springs Fire Department, on Thursday night as part of an on going narcotics investigation.

Police arrested 30-year-old Janel Sweet and 31-year-old Justin Moran, a 6-year employee of the Saratoga Springs Fire Department who has been off-duty on involuntary medical leave since January.

Police say a search warrant was executed, and both Sweet and Moran were arrested for possessing crack cocaine. Police also say children were living in the home.

Sweet and Moran are both charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a felony, Criminal Possession of Hypodermic Needles, a misdemeanor, Criminal
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, Endangering the Welfare
of a Child, a misdemeanor. They have been remanded to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond bail.
